Read Back Envelope (RBE)
Project Description
Build and test a prototype PCB used to test media for 3 1/2" diskettes. A test pattern is written on a diskette track then read back with information gathered and saved.
Skills Required
Designed and built a small PCB controlled by PC-based software using a parallel interface. The diskette motherboard data separator signal was recognized in the EPLD to create a clock at the peak of the analog output of the diskette drive
Services Used
Built up an Altera EPLD to provide an external clock to the Gauge (Oscilloscope) PCB. Amplified and fed the analog diskette signal to the Gauge PCB.
